One might regard friends as those who you wish to keep close. Don't, for if that friend leaves, you will suffer one thousand times more than you have ever suffered.

What Do You THINK NOW?!!

Posted by DragonPunch - August 8th, 2012

Well, here's a piece I had been working on for the last couple days, constantly analyzing and correcting it, and still am, by the way. This is actually a prize for someone catching my Kiriban on DeviantART the other day, so I am trying to take my time and make this the best piece I have ever done. And yes, I am photoshopping this one. Any suggestions on tutorials for better shading techniques? That would really help a lot.

Has the potential to be a decent painting. Few things:
- That throne is an odd shape. If you look at the arms and the back of the chair, you'll see that the right-hand side (our right hand) is lower than the left. Bring the top up (since it's closer to us), and bring the chair's arm up: use the seat as a reference point.
- I doubt she's capable of flying on those wings - they look incredibly spindly and are only two feathers thick. To be fair, you don't have to detail the feathers in this pic, since the focus is on the girl.
- The left breast is lopsided. Look at her shoulders, imagine the shape of the ribcage and you'll see that the angle for the bottom half of the chest is completely different to the top.

Lastly, refer to you reference while you're drawing. Don't look at the pic and work from memory, look at them both while you're drawing.

I really, really appreciate your help! You saved me from having to redraw the picture! :)
